Berlin Areas

Berlin - the capital of Germany since the reunification in 1990 - has been separated in 12 city districts. This classification, however, serves mainly for administrative reasons. In everyday language, the about 95 parts of the town play a more important role because their names are mostly due to historically grown areas.

Many of the sights are located in the central areas "Berlin Mitte" and "Tiergarten", but also for example in "Kreuzberg", "Prenzlauer Berg", "Schönefeld" or "Charlottenburg".

If you have time, you should not miss visiting some of the suburbs, e.g. Potsdam and the Wannsee.
