Berlin's Cathedral ("Berliner Dom") was constructed between 1895 and 1905 according to plans of the architect Julius Raschdorff in baroque style with Renaissance influences.
The "Berliner Dom", however, was not the first church on the site where it is now, but definitely the largest one.
In 1465, a chapel was built by the Hohenzollern dynasty. About 300 years later, the chapel was replaced by a baroque cathedral and redesigned by the famous architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel in Neoclassical style later. |
