The Marx-Engels-Forum was built as memorial in 1980 near the City Hall in "Berlin Mitte". In the middle of the square, there is a sculpture of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels designed by Ludwig Engelhardt.
After the reunification in 1990, the Marx-Engels-Forum became a subject of discussions: some people want to leave the square as it is, some people want to remove the socialist memorial. |
