The oldest of Berlin's theaters is the state opera "Unter den Linden".
More than 250 year ago, Friedrich II put the architect Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff in charge of building the opera house which was opened in 1742.
Within the course of time, the "Staatsoper unter den Linden" has become a highly renowned opera and now, it is not only famous for its productions but also for its state orchestra. |
